4. Prime the chest before you start painting. You can easily do this today with spray cans that are very easy to use. Allow it to dry.

5. Paint from the top down using very light coats. You can also use spray paint here as well.

6. If you want to paint your chest black, make sure that you also use black spray primer.

7. For a neat appearance, tape the inside of the chest and on the sides of the drawers so the paint does not get on the inside surface.
